Skull Base pathosis is challenging to treat because of its location. Many of the challenges in the treatment of pathosis in this area have been overcome by the development of minimally invasive but highly effective surgeries & newer modalities in chemo and radiotherapy. Modern surgery for skull base tumors is highly specialized and minimally invasive thereby providing the patient with much better safety & cranial nerve preservation rates than in the past. Minimal invasiveness in surgery is due the use of advanced microscopes, endoscopes, neuronavigation tools and cranial nerve monitoring. Gamma knife & newer modalities of radiotherapy provide tumor control with minimal side effects.
